Group Discussions

These groups, of up to 6 participants, are designed for advanced English students to build up confidence when speaking with others in either informal, social situations or in more formal ones such as job-hunting, work-related meetings and professional consultations.

Discussion groups give you the opportunity to meet new people and practice English.

The discussions are usually centred around a specific topic. The group leader is an experienced English teacher who will lead the discussion but allow for the individuals to express their opinions. These discussions form a base for cultural awareness within the Australian vernacular.

Skills learned include communication in both social and formal situations. The discussion begins with a topic chosen by the teacher.  The teacher's role is to moderate the conversation and answer questions.
